  • Offering of a badge to all selected mothers of the soldiers who died in action.
  • Offering of a BADGE to identify the recepient.
  • Offering of a gift parcel of every selected mother.
  • Granting of a year's financial assistance of Rs.1000/= monthly (distribution of National Savings Bank pass books).
    • On this occasion as the first step a savings account in favour of the Seva Vanitha Unit of the Prime Minister's Office will be opened under "Viru Mava Surakimu" and deposits will be made to this account (Account No. 1-0001 -09 -70395).
    • Later, the money granted to the selected mothers will be credited to their accounts maintained by Seva Vanitha Unit on standing orders issued by the Unit.

Criteria for selection of groups
 
  • Mothers of married Forces and Police personnel who are in difficulties without any compensation or grant.
  • Mothers left without any entitlement or support due to the married status of dead or missing services personnel.
  • Mothers left unsupported due to the loss in action of an only child or more than one child.
